Nearfront vs Deeproots

Deeproots had one of the better ideas in dispensary SEO: build a page for every suburb around a client's store. This comparison credits the idea, measures the execution as their site showed it on 24 August 2026, and explains how we run the same play under stricter rules.

What Deeproots got right

The satellite-page pattern is a genuinely good idea: a dispensary's customers do not all live in its city, so build a page for each surrounding suburb and win the searches that happen there. Deeproots runs this pattern for clients, and their pages include a block of real local businesses in each suburb, linked outbound. That local-texture block is the single best idea we have seen in the pattern, and we admired it enough to plan our own version.

We also want to be precise about something that changed. Earlier industry chatter, ours included, noted their satellite pages sitting indexable on a development subdomain. When we re-checked on 24 August 2026, the two satellite pages we sampled carried noindex tags. Whatever prompted the change, it was the right call, and this page reflects the current state rather than the old finding.

In short: Deeproots' satellite concept is one of the better ideas in dispensary SEO and their local-business blocks are the best part of it. The sampled pages were noindexed on their development host when we checked on 24 August 2026, an improvement on earlier states, and we say so.

How is Nearfront different from Deeproots?

The difference is what happens between the idea and the publish button. We measured the two Deeproots satellite pages we sampled with the same tool we run against our own site: 8-gram shingle overlap, the standard way of quantifying template duplication. They measured 15.3 percent against each other. Our own validator warns any two sibling pages at 10 percent and refuses to ship them at 15. Across all 18 of our live geo pages, the worst pair measures 6.9 percent.

The sampled satellites also carried no FAQPage and no LocalBusiness schema, which for pages whose entire purpose is local search is leaving the most relevant markup unused. Every geo page we ship carries FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and a Dataset node citing the state files its numbers come from.

None of this makes the satellite play wrong. It makes the gate the product. The same idea, run with a uniqueness threshold, sourced local facts and full local markup, is on our roadmap for client locations precisely because the concept deserves better execution than the category has given it.

Competitor cells describe two Deeproots satellite pages sampled from their public development host on 24 August 2026, measured with the same 8-gram overlap tool we run on our own pages. Our cells describe nearfront.com the same day.

In short: Measured with the same tool on the same day, Deeproots' sampled satellite pages overlap each other at 15.3 percent with no local schema, while our sibling pages max at 6.9 percent with FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and sourced Dataset markup on every one. The concept is theirs to credit; the gate is ours.

When should you choose Deeproots, and when Nearfront?

Choose Deeproots if you want the team that originated the satellite pattern in this category and has run it across client sites, and if page volume around your locations matters more to you than per-page uniqueness metrics.

Choose Nearfront if you want the same surrounding-suburb strategy executed with a duplicate-content gate a machine enforces, market claims sourced to state files, and local schema on every page. And whichever way you go, ask one question: what is the measured overlap between two of the pages you will build for me? It is a number, it takes a minute to produce, and it predicts how Google will read the set.

In short: Deeproots for the originators of the satellite pattern at volume; Nearfront for the same pattern behind an enforced uniqueness gate with sourced facts and full local markup. Ask either agency for the measured overlap between two sample pages before you sign.

Common questions about Nearfront and Deeproots

What is a dispensary satellite page?

A page targeting searches from a suburb near a dispensary, such as dispensary near a named neighborhood, built one per surrounding community. Deeproots runs this pattern for clients and deserves credit for it. Done well it captures real demand; done from one template it produces near-duplicate pages that Google filters.

What did Nearfront actually measure on Deeproots' pages?

On 24 August 2026 we sampled two satellite pages on their public development host and measured 15.3 percent 8-gram overlap between them, using the same tool our own validator runs. The sampled pages carried noindex tags and no FAQPage or LocalBusiness schema. We archived the pages we measured.

Is 15 percent overlap between pages bad?

It is the level at which our own validator refuses to publish a page, because template duplication at that level risks Google treating the set as boilerplate. Our 18 live geo pages max out at 6.9 percent between the closest pair. The threshold is a policy choice, but it is one we apply to ourselves first.

Will Nearfront build satellite pages for my dispensary?

That is the plan for client locations: the same surrounding-suburb concept, with each page built on sourced local facts, held under our 10 percent overlap warning threshold, and shipped with FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and Dataset markup.
